100 word challenge WC 24.2.14

Well done to Holly on winning this weeks challenge – What a great piece of writing.

“Whats that?” asked Ben. He and his brother were digging a hole by the beach to trap some creatures. The boys dug their spades pushing through the earth.

“I don’t know.” Said Buster in confusion. “maybe it’s a furry animal.”

“What should we do?” Ben replied.

Ben and Buster eased the dirt away from the animals side, but the animal was trying its hardest to bury itself. Soon the boys had dug the animal. The creature had sandy coloured fur and eyes on strange wobbly stalks.

“Hello, and who are you?” Ben asked cautiously.

“My name is……….well I’m a pasamead!”

100 Word Challenge this week.

It was so hard to choose this week, but once again Lucy Turney has written an amazing piece. Well done.

Me, and all my friends came together at the park one day to see if they knew anything about the incident. “Who would take the queen on live Tv and say if he doesn’t get his jewels he will hold the queen captive for the rest of her life!!!” I said. Still confused about it all.

My friends Molly, Megan and Amelia all said at the same time that we must do something or the queen would be held captive forever.

Amelia said that meetings were held across the country to find an answer to all this. We found out that there was one going on at our own school.

100 word challenge Week 21

Well done to Charlotte Ross for her great piece of writing this week.

It was time for me to go to bed. When I looked outside, I surveyed the glistening sea, anxious to catch a glimpse of a dolphin. There were rumours about dolphins in this area, but I’d never seen one. Filled with disappointment, I slowly walked upstairs. I got into bed, closed my eyes and fell asleep, thinking about beautiful grey dolphins.

I woke up. What a beautiful dream I thought. I got up, walked to my window, but all I could see was the water. I observed the sea closely. A splash! And another one. A whole pod of dolphins swam past, my dream finally came true!

Carnival fever!

The dancing was amazing, the costumes and headdresses were fab! I hope you all enjoyed the carnival! It’s a shame it’s not as hot here as it is in Rio, but at least the sun was shining on us! Thanks for all your hard work!

World Cup Winner!

World Cup Winner!

It was a tense and nail biting final, but South Korea stole the victory in the final minutes of extra time! The final score was 3-2! Well done Ollie, you really held your nerve!

As part of our global awareness week, we have been finding out about the World Cup 2014 which is being hosted by Brazil this summer. We learnt about the participating teams and where in the world they came from. We then played a World Cup simulation game where each child in the class represented a nation and they played ‘matches’ by rolling a dice with a number of rules to score/ save a goal. We then collated the data and looked at average goal scores, who scored the most/least etc.

We hope that the results weren’t a sign of things to come as England were knocked out in the group stages after a rather poor performance!!
