100 Word challenge week commencing 24.3.14

What a difficult week for choosing just one for the blog, but this weeks worthy winner is Gabrielle Hanson. Well done!

Dear Night Zookeeper

I have read your letter and have decided I would love to become a Zookeeper. First of all I think I am very good at sneaking around and disguising. I could go undercover and collect clues from the land of Nilth.

Also if one of the monsters from Nilth stole one of the animals then I will risk my life to go and save the animals.

Even if there were 1000’s of monsters I will take them down until every animal is safe. I will keep a look out and take time to find any brutal monsters.

100 word challenge

Well done to Matty Hewitt this week for completing his first 100 word challenge and putting in so much effort. Mrs Lyons and Mrs Sampson are extremely proud and we know that Mum is too!

One beautiful sunny day, at the gleaming presidents white house everyone was fast asleep. It was a great day for everyone all over the world or so they thought………

“Nasa do you copy? We have an enormous problem.” Yelled one of the astronauts. Beep, beep, beep.

“Well what a beautiful day and time to get up.” groaned the president.

“Sir we just got a message from Nasa, I think it is now here.” Said the assistant to the president.

“Everyone, look up. Can you see that alien spacecraft sort of thing?” Called out one of the campers. “Oh, no, run!”………

Class 8 assembly

Thank you so much to all the parents who came to watch our assembly this morning! Class 8 loved ‘performing’ a selection of their work over the last term and I think it really showed off their creative talents perfectly. Someone even said they wanted to go and do it all over again…
Thanks too to Kate wright for teaching such an amazing modern styled African dance.
Well done class 8, yet again you have made Mrs Lyons and Mrs Sampson very proud indeed!

100 word challenge 10th March

Well done to Emily for winning last weeks 100 WC. So much drama and suspense!! I don’t like the sound of the mysterious box, do you?!
This is her entry:

Olivia cautiously crept down the wooden, creaky stairs, her heart pounding louder and louder, sweat pouring from her face. A mysterious rustle was coming from downstairs. She tried to ignore it but the sound just took over her mind, forcing her to go on. Once she stepped off the last step and tiptoed across the landing, something struck her….
Meanwhile upstairs Lizzy was awake. From the same sound. She walked nervously out of her room. But she didn’t have to go any further, for in front of her was a square box. Shaking wildly she looked upon it. But when she lifted the lid she fell lifelessly inside….

Congratulations to Jennifer Duffield who was voted the winner from class 8 for her amazing holiday advert! It’s safe to say we were all stunned by the effort that had gone into making such a brilliant piece of work. I will try to get this uploaded to the blog soon. Well done to Oliver Ranken for his very entertaining soap advert and to Tristan for his cake advert! Here is a selection of some other excellent homeworks. Well done class 8, super efforts!!

100 word challenge 3.3.14

Well done to Lana Williams for her take on Cinderella.

Cinderella walked through the colourful disco. She stood in the middle of the dance floor doing the chicken dance, she also started doing some karate moves. As she was about to do a karate kick her high-top flew in slow motion out of the window. Cinderella rushed out realising it was nearly twelve. If she didn’t get home soon she would turn into a mouse.

She rushed home, smashed her door open and jumped into bed. She realised that she had left her mobile phone at the disco.

“Oops!” she said to herself.

Luckily she didn’t turn into a mouse.
