Today our maths set had a treat. Maths with smarties. To begin, they had to work out fractions and percentages. They also worked on ratio too. They had fun!

100 word challenge this week………… But I’m afraid this is the last one.
Well done to Emily Hanlon, a very tense and nail biting piece of writing.
One night I was in a meadow lost in my own emotions. The grass was dark and the trees were casting shadows that were looming over me. Suddenly, in front of me I saw a spooky shadow in the shape of a man. He was slowly coming towards me. I wanted to turn and run but my feet weren’t letting me, it was like they were stuck to the ground. Once he had reached me a shiver ran up my spine. His face was covered, just then, a breeze swayed across him which revealed his true form.
“But I’m afraid this is the last one!” He said
“What!?”

100 Word challenge this week
Well done to Molly Jarvis this week. What a descriptive piece from a great point of view.
It had been six months since I was born, just a little cub. But now I am big enough to go and explore nature. With my two parents of course. My dad with his huge furry mane swaying around his neck. Then my mum started to happily push my dad into the leaves for fun. Leaves whispered tunes as they rocked side to side in perfect unison with the trees. I heard birds chirping and monkeys/gorillas growling, the forest seemed alive as all the animals howled and squeaked. This astonishing feature mesmerised me in so many ways as my little green eyes saw so much.

100 word challenge this week
Well done to Megan Ellis, a super effort.
One boiling hot and breezy afternoon me and my friend Lily were playing in the warm summer breeze. It blew through our hair as we were gently gliding through the air like a hot air balloon. The grass was as soft as sheep wool and the flowers were luminous pink and purple while the other flowers were as beautiful as the day. But it was far too hot to play outside in the bright vibrant sun all day, so we decided to play inside for a while. We watched a movie then we were being dramatic and having some fun.

100 word challenge 16.6.14
Well done to Lorna Collinson this week for her entry for the challenge!
Dear Diary,
Today my mother got tickets for our whole family to go to Rio to see Brazil battle it out with Uruguay! I nearly jumped right out of my skin when I heard the great news.
Wednesday 19th May
Today is the day when we get to go to Brazil! We all hopped in the care, even our dog scruff. As we got to the busy town of Rio, everybody was rushing around manically screaming and shouting extremely loudly trying to get to the huge roaring stadium, but that’s what happens in Brazil when there is a world cup.
